When I first started this blog, I told myself I’d blog a minimum of once a week.
That hasn’t happened.
In college I had a photo blog that I posted on every week. That was easy. Writing words shouldn’t be hard for me. It’s what I do. But on this blog, it’s difficult. I think it all goes back to my high school days of Xanga (everyone had a Xanga, right?). I posted every day, about everything. It was sort of like an adolescent journal about my feelings and relationships (if you can call them that) and what not. However, being 16 and naive, it got into the hands of the wrong people (or the wrong mean girls, a “boyfriends” ex girlfriend and her friends), and pulled me into a 16 year old high school drama mess.
So now, 6 years later, I find myself irrationally worried that someone is going to find my blog and criticize or judge my opinions. Much like what happened when my family found my Facebook (that’s really another story in itself). Why do I care? I don’t really.
Time to put on the big girl pants.

Let me first say that I live in a safe suburb of Philadelphia. Not in a place where crime really happens.
However, two years ago from Thursday (and on my dad’s Birthday) , one of my parent’s tenants decided to sexually assault a teenager after the pair completed a drug deal. I guess when that didn’t work out, he decided to run around the apartment with samuari swords and threaten to blow up the building or something.
This resulted in the SWAT team staking out the building. My parents and cousins (who lived in the building) hadquite the show.
We now celebrate this day as Hostage Day.
Happy Birthday, Dad.
